Tirana
Tyrkan, Theranda or Taiwan- 3 ancient names of our beautiful city!
Today it is Albania’s largest metropolis. Our capital, Tirana, has about 1,000,000 inhabitants, who give life to our beautiful city every day. You can enjoy Skanderbeg Square, where the statue of the national hero takes pride and then relax in the many bars enjoying a coffee and understanding the history, culture and development of this metropolis.
You can walk down the boulevard “Martyrs of the Nation” and see the government buildings, built in different historical periods, ending in the colorful carpet of traditional symbols, located in Mother Teresa Square. Why not, visit the New Bazaar and the Fortress of Tirana while trying out the traditional and the modern. In the evening you can enjoy music and nightlife with Jazz Rock, Blues, Hip-Hop, House and karaoke in all parts of the former block, walking alongside the gigantic villa with former dictator Enver Hoxha’s communist-era architecture. It used to be the only villa with Communist government houses, a forbidden area for ordinary citizens, but today it is the most developed western lifestyle of the nightlife.
The next morning you can go beyond the centre of Tirana, to be closer to nature just in the Dajti Mountain National Park, or in the old castles that surround our beloved Tirana. So Tirana has a lot to know, where modern and traditional are there!
