Pëllumbas Cave

Pëllumbas Cave

Or the black cave of Tirana is located in the village of Pëlumbas near the capital.

This cave, dating back 10,000 years, stands at the foot of the Erzen River canyon as a natural fortress. The journey to the cave offers a truly adventurous climb, where you reach so close to a virgin landscape surrounded by natural balconies, where the view at a considerable altitude leaves you speechless. As soon as the climb is over, the Cave appears, enigmatically beautiful and so quiet. The only thought that comes to you in those moments is: “Explore and get lost inside the Black Cave. “

The black Cave, is one of the only 6 Karst caves in Europe. In addition to its stunning natural beauty, the cave is also of great historical importance to Albania as archaeologists have found remains of the human culture of the Paleolithic period in it.
