I have spent most of my field years digging in the high forests and fields for another life, a life expressed in smaller physical dimensions. Did you know that Albania is one of the richest countries in Europe in terms of biodiversity? When I say biodiversity here include the frigid rivers, high and old forests and mountains, high waterfalls and most importantly a range of rare plants and animals, often endemic to our country. Moving from north to south of Albania you can see a different variation in landscape and species of plants and animals. The north of Albania, including the Albanian Alps, has a mountainous terrain, which hides a range of tall and quite rare animals, some of which are also protected by relevant animal and habitat directives.

Rana e Hedhun, It is located in the city of Lezha, near the beach of Shengjin. It is truly a place not to be missed, completely untouched and of a virgin nature. The whole slope of the hill is covered with sand so you are really amazed at how sand dunes can be found in the Balkans and not just in the famous Middle Eastern Sahara. Once we climb to the top of this dune, we can roll upwards and end up straight and into the sea. The particular part of this beach has no end, as there are small places where the sand is completely black and most vacationers completely paint their body and face as it is claimed to have curative properties. A special place and definitely not to be missed. Time will pass so fast that you will leave with a smile on your face. Albania’s geographical position is very favorable for the fertility, natural beauty and trade routes it offers. In the northwest we border Montenegro, northeast with Kosovo, east with northern Macedonia, southeast with Greece and west with the Adriatic and Ionian seas.
